Welcome to Romshed Farm

Nature friendly farming, steeped in history

Romshed Farm lies south of Sevenoaks in Kent, where the greensand ridge meets the weald clay, on the outskirts of a small village called Underriver. We treasure the history of the farm, which goes back to Saxon times and aim to maximise the opportunities for wildlife and increased biodiversity. We have a focus on the regeneration of lost wildflower rich meadows. Large areas of long grass, old mixed hedges and small copses provide wildlife corridors for insects, small mammals and birds. See here for Lockdown videos and Click here to visit our You Tube Channel for farming practices and updates.

Grazing livestock

We are experimenting with different ways of grazing our livestock to encourage deeper rooting plants, enabling the soil to hold more carbon and improve its water holding capacity. We regularly move the sheep and cattle from field to field and doing this helps to spread the wildflowers and native grasses, resulting in a cacophony of insect noise in the hay meadows during the summer months.

Our produce

The farm is certified as organic with the Soil Association and our beef and lamb is certified Pasture for Life. We aim to supply exceptional, tasty meat to local people. Beef and lamb raised entirely on pasture, with no cereals, is proven to have the highest of nutritional value. We enjoy sharing recipes and ideas with our customers, many of whom really appreciate the adventure of trying new cuts and the seasonality of naturally produced meat.
